Light is the fastest thing in the universe, with a speed of 299,792,458 meters per second. At that speed, you can literally reach the moon even before you finish singing Fly Me to the Moon. And if we are to believe what Einstein said, nothing else can ever move faster than light. Never.
But should we really need to believe him at all?
In the 21st century, our lives have become as fast-paced as light, at least metaphorically. And as we go on with living our lives as hectically as ever– carrying out one task after another, dealing with one responsibility after another, taking good care of people we love and those we live with– we seldom find the time to stop by, take a break, and chill.
What? Do you have managed to get some time to chill? Have some hours to kill? If yes, then we have something for you to keep you busy enjoying your leisure time.
Whether you want to spend the weekend all by yourself, enjoy your me-time curled up lazily in bed, or just have quality time with friends and family, a Netflix subscription is all you need to start binge-watching and chill.

Hop in to discover ten of the most notable new Netflix releases you must watch in 2022.
The Adam Project
For Sci-fi buffs, few topics manage to be as interesting as time travel. And what happens when time travel meets action, emotions, drama, and adventure with a tinge of humor? We get something like The Adam Project.
Directed by Shawn Levy, the film showcases Ryan Reynolds as a pilot from 2050 who finds himself teaming up with his 12-year-old self to save his wife and the world. But between the two selves and their objective lies some big problems. Will the duo succeed in what they set out for? Tune into one of the most-awaited Netflix releases in 2022 to find out the answer.
Spiderhead
Director Joseph Kosinski teams up with actors Chris Hemsworth, Miles Teller, and Jurnee Smollett, who star in this thrilling story revolving around Spiderhead – a high-end penitentiary with a special twist.
Prisoners are made volunteers in a special chemical research project in exchange for reducing their prison sentence. They are made to consume some unique mind-altering drugs that can induce feelings of love, fear, pain, and whatnot. Based on a story by George Saunders, the film is a perfect thriller.
Persuasion
Adapted from Jane Austen’s novel of the same name, Persuasion stars the stunning Dakota Johnson as the lead character named Anne Elliot, who is struggling to break free from the eight-year-old memories of Wentworth – a handsome man she couldn’t marry.
Persuasion is one of Austen’s most profound novels. It is interesting– if not fantastic– how the original story has been modified here and there to make up the Netflix original. You may or may not like the changes that have been made, but you should definitely watch it once.
The Sandman
Another book-to-movie adaptation in the list, The Sandman, tells the story of Sandman – the god of dreams – as he escapes from his 106 years of captivity to fix everything that happened in his absence.
As the story unravels, we see Neil Gaiman’s imagination spring into action as Tom Sturridge commendably portrays the role of The Sandman, doing justice to the character that has been a part of our childhood.
If you have loved Gaiman’s Sandman from the comics, you cannot help loving this Netflix adaptation, too.
Ozark: Season 4
The much-appreciated award-winning show returned with its fourth and final season in April this year. And did it deliver what we expected it would? Honestly, we couldn’t have asked more.
The concluding season of the popular crime drama starts as the Byrde family goes deeper into their money laundering activities.
But nothing is without dangers in this business. And the greatest threat will come from the inside. Start binging the season to discover whether and how Marty and Wendy find a way amid betrayals, dangers, and threats.
Stranger Things: Season 4

The fourth season follows multiple storylines taking place eight months after the events of the last season before they all merge in a connecting thread that drives the story forward.

Athena
Athena is an amazing show that came out of the streaming giant in September this year. Helmed by acclaimed director Romain Gavras, Athena is a French show that revolves around the events after the shocking death of a young boy named Idir.
The chaos that follows makes an astounding spectacle of a film that has strong emotions, impeccable action sequences, great cinematography and camera work, and brilliant direction from the hands of one of the best directors in the world. Athena is hands down one of the best shows of 2022.
Man vs. Bee
We have talked a lot about serious films, and it’s high time we listened to The Joker: Why so serious?
Everyone likes a good comedy. And when it comes to this genre, one name remains at the back of the head of each of us: Rowan Atkinson, or should we say, Mr. Bean. After unexpectedly landing the job of a house sitter, Trevor Bingley (Atkinson) finds himself fighting with a bee. Tune into Man vs. Bee to find out who wins the battle. Whose side are you on?
The Midnight Club
We haven’t talked about a horror movie yet! But no need to worry. It’s not too late. The Midnight Club is sure to make up for your horror cravings. And few horror movies can be better than one directed by Mike Flanagan.
A huge mansion with many mysteries, eight ill kids having a knack for horror and sinister stories, and a frightening pact become the ingredients of a good horror story as facts and fiction merge and stories become realities. The series is an ambitious adaptation of Christopher Pike’s 1994 book of the same name, and it is a good one.
1899
Throughout our list of the top Netflix releases in 2022, we have talked about shows and movies that have already been released. But one show is just as significant even before its release as other shows on the list.
The writer-director duo– Baran Bo Odar and Jantje Friese– the same people who created one of the best sci-fi shows of all time, Dark, have teamed up once again to present a highly anticipated piece of fiction. 1899 follows the story of immigrants aboard the steamship Kerberos as they encounter a mysterious ship on their way to New York.
The mysteries that unravel are a mystery until the show releases on November 17.
